Analysis

  1. Based on your experiments, how is a light sensor like our eye? How is it different?

  2. Look at pictures of the eyes of different animals. Some are designed to locate prey very precisely. Some are designed to see everywhere at once, so that nobody can sneak up on them. What do you think is the main purpose of each of these eyes?

    Eagle:

    Frog:

    Crab:

    Lion:

    Horsefly:

    Owl:

    Rabbit:

    Tarsier:

  3. Create a fantastic animal with lots of different kinds of eyes. Draw a picture of your animal on a separate sheet of paper. Refer to Technical Hints to create a drawing. Next, write a brief description about how your animal uses its eyes.

  4. There are scientific instruments, such as telescopes and microscopes, that help our eyes to see more. What can you see with their help?

  5. What do you know about eyes and light sensors? What questions do you still have?
